The method used to determine elapsed time baselines for PDS servers, compute stations, and workstations is to run trace_to_text.sh traceroute script from:

          http://10.253.82.59/scripts/trace/

The script can be run as a cron job at a few minutes interval during production design work hours, Monday through Friday/Saturday in the locale in which the system is located.

Once it is set up, this is what to expect from the scripted routine:

  1. Traceroutes from the system to a destination address.
  2. Records the results locally
  3. Sends the results to the repository at 10.253.82.59/sim/arch/trace
  4. Repository data is converted to csv format at the repository
  5. The converted data is loaded into the database
  6. View test results at http://10.253.82.59/tests/trace
